Every month from September through May, Jazz at 6 East State presents the best of local musicians and guests from around the country. We also occasionally celebrate Jazz Vespers. Jazz Vespers is a worship service originating in New York City, designed with a more casual approach. All are welcome to these events that are presented free to the public, except for the special benefit on September 4. Contributions are always accepted for Hot Meals for the Hungry.

Doors open at 6 pm for drinks and bites.
Show starts at 6:30 pm.
$10 entree with proceeds benefiting Grace Hot Meals, a ministry of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, which provides meals for downtown Savannah's houseless and food-insecure community.
Light in the Darkness is a jazz suite by trumpeter and composer Benje Daneman. Originally commissioned by Spark & Echo Arts in 2015, the work is directly inspired by sacred texts centered on themes of light and darkness, guiding listeners through a musical journey shaped by uncertainty, hope, struggle, and resilience. Through richly crafted compositions and expressive improvisation, the music explores universal human experiences, inviting audiences of all backgrounds into a reflective and inspiring listening experience.
